ROOFTECH has investigated more than 100 roof collapses including collapses occurring as a result of construction defects, wind, rain, and combination of wind and rain loads. We are experts in the design of roof drainage systems and the associated design and construction requirements. Rooftech has redesigned 1000s of drainage systems to comply to industry standards and codes to solve a variety of roof drainage problems. Mr. Patterson has published two editions of Roof Drainage (RCI/IIBEC), a roof drainage design book. Mr. Patterson has also published peer-reviewed technical papers including Roof Drainage Design (RCI, 2007), Life Safety Roof Design Issues (RCI 2010), Combination of Wind Load and Rain Load (RCI 2012), Roof Drainage Design, Roof Collapses, & the Codes (RCI 2018), and Raising the Bar in Standards: The ASCE 7 Standard & Low-Slope Roof Drainage” (IIBEC 2020).
